Objectives of Dr. Ferguson’s talk are to:
(1) Understand that our lives and the health of the planet are interconnected;
(2) Understand that as we align ourselves with Nature, we not only heal ourselves but affect generations; and
(3) Understand practical ways to address chronic disease through an anti-inflammatory lifestyle that also promotes health on the planet.
Dr. Gary Ferguson serves as the Director of Integrative Medicine for the Tulalip Health System in Washington State. He also is a Research Assistant Professor at Washington State University’s Institute for Research and Education to Advance Community Health (IREACH) located in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. As a Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Ferguson has a passion for wellness-based, culturally-connected approaches to achieving community health. He is Unangax̂ (Aleut), enrolled in the Qagan Tayagungin Tribe and is originally from the Shumagin Islands community of Sand Point, Alaska. Dr. Ferguson’s past positions include providing clinical services to his home region at Eastern Aleutian Tribes, serving at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium as Wellness & Prevention Director and Senior Director of Community Health Services and as Chief Executive Officer at the Rural Alaska Community Action Program. Dr. Ferguson is Director of Integrative Medicine for the Tulalip Health System in Washington State.
